Dedicated Education Director Makes The Grade With Stanford Who's Who
Dina Maiben has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her extraordinary effort in the Education Industry.
MANALAPAN, NJ, November 17, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Dina Maiben has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her extraordinary effort in the Education Industry. As Director of Religious Education for Temple Shaari Emeth for the past 21 years, Dina has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
Temple Shaari Emeth provides supplementary education for 400-600 students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Their mission is to strengthen and enhance all of the lives of those involved with the Temple through the practice of Judaism as seen through Reform Jewish eyes. They aspire to attain these goals through Torah, Avodah and Aydut. Temple Shaari Emeth strives to fulfill Tikkun Olam recognizing their responsibilities for a better world through acts of loving kindness, justice and mercy.
Dina is responsible for curriculum development and teacher training. She teaches the Hebrew language and Jewish culture. Dina has published 14 books and written numerous journal articles. During her educational career, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hebrew Language and Literature from the University of Utah in 1983 and has also studied at the University of Haifa. Dina is currently working on a Master's degree and an Advanced Certificate in Jewish Education from Gratz College.
Dina is the author of Alef Bet Quest, a Hebrew reading primer which was the recipient of the Association of Educational Publisher's Distinguished Achievement Award in World Language in 2010. This marks the first time a Hebrew book has won this most prestigious award. She is a member of the National Association of Temple Educators. Dina is also the Founder and Co-Chair of the Monmouth County Commission on Jewish Education. In the time away from her busy schedule, Dina greatly enjoys reading, writing, gourmet cooking and gardening.
