INDIANAPOLIS, IN, November 29, 2010 /Women in Business PR News/ -- Dr. Jodi A. Parks, medical director of The Blood Center in New Orleans, LA, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Clinical Pathology. Board-certified in clinical pathology and blood bank/transfusion medicine, Dr. Jodi A. Parks practices at The Blood Center in New Orleans, LA. Over the last six years, Dr. Parks has gained considerable experience in hospital blood banking/transfusion medicine (particularly in therapeutic apheresis) while a visiting lecturer at Indiana University School of Medicine. She also served as an independent consultant for the Indiana Blood Center (taking primary call) and for Strategic Healthcare Group (auditing hospital blood banks and educating clinicians, pathologists and blood bank personnel in blood product utilization based on evidence-based transfusion guidelines). She was formerly an instructor for the Indiana University Medical Technology Program. She is an inspector for the American Association of Blood Banks and the College of American Pathologists and is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathologists in hemapheresis. She has been an invited speaker at the Indiana State Association of Blood Banks' and North Carolina Association of Blood Banks' annual meetings.
Dr. Parks earned her medical degree in 2001 from the Indiana University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts from the same in 1994. Away from work Dr. Parks enjoys reading, participating in medical missions and doing living history.
