As an Artist and Owner of Ruth-Art, as well as throughout her brilliant professional career, Ruth has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
Born in Austria in 1959, Ruth discovered her talent and passion for art at a young age, always having an eagerness to express herself. She enrolled in the Art College for Jewelers in 1974 and graduated in 1978. Ruth's strong desire to expand her horizons and way of seeing life led her to traveling around the world. During that time, she fell in love with South Africa, making it her permanent home. After successfully running her own fashion jewelry business and silk tie business, Ruth continued to experiment and develop her artistic talents.
Ruth has now been a full-time artist for over 15 years, drawing inspiration from the beauty of natural habitats as well as the breathtaking awe of the universe. She refuses to be bound to a certain style because of her belief that one must make the most of their God-given gift. She portrays great success with varied mediums, including water colors, acrylics, oil on canvas, silk paint, acid etching and ink on hand-made paper or board. Ruth's work is held in many commercial and private collections in South Africa, Australia, Europe, the United States, and as far as Korea.
