Punitha Muniandy Gains Entrance To The Ranks Of Stanford Who's Who

Stanford Who's Who announces the addition of Punitha Muniandy to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of her exceptional writing abilities.

VICTORIA, BC, CANADA, November 2, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who announces the addition of Punitha Muniandy to the ranks of leading professionals as a result of her exceptional writing abilities. Throughout her brilliant professional career, Punitha has consistently displayed the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be successful in the business world.

Punitha is a freelance writer, novelist, and hospitality professional who was born and raised in Malaysia, where she earned an English degree from the University of Malaya. As a writer while in her native land, she worked with a company known as Property Malaysia, where she wrote articles pertaining to the property market in Malaysia. Punitha then wound up migrating to Canada in 2000, where she continued her freelance writing and also found work in the hospitality industry, working in hotels for the past 11 years.

Although Punitha was happy working in the hospitality industry, she was not totally satisfied, so she began writing short fiction stories while pregnant with her second child, which gave her an entirely new outlook on life. It led her to brush up on her writing skills by completing a Diploma in Creative Writing. Punitha's short stories are displayed on Fiction Writers' Platform, her non-fiction articles can be found at Suite101.com, and her ebooks are available through numerous online book stores.

Punitha's journey as a writer has been filled with challenges and obstacles through which she has always persevered. She recently completed her first novel, Barish: One Rainy Day, which was published by iUniverse Publishing in August of 2011 and is available at all Indigo, Chapters, and Coles bookstores. The story is about the conundrums faced by an Indo-Canadian family. On a rain-soaked day, the lives of the various characters in a family seem to unravel simultaneously in this intriguing, dramatic tale that exceeds the boundaries of culture and society to find what is truly important within each individual.

Punitha serves as the Organizer for the Victoria Writer's Group and as a Speaker for Passages to Canada Speakers' Bureau, which is a diverse group of over 600 immigrants and refugees who have volunteered to share their experiences with youth and community groups, providing immigrants with interesting and valuable information on Canadian culture. She also currently works at the James Bay Inn Hotel & Suites and is in the process of working on her second novel.
