Allison J. Baird Joins The Stanford Who's Who Community
Allison J. Baird has earned the recognition of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her outstanding effort in speech language pathology.
WINNIPEG, MB, CANADA, December 1, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Allison J. Baird has earned the recognition of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her outstanding effort in speech language pathology. As a Speech Language Pathologist and President of SpeechWorks Inc., as well as throughout her brilliant professional career, Allison has consistently exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be successful in the business world.
SpeechWorks is an organization which has been in existence for more than fifteen years, providing specialized diagnostic and treatment services to children and adults with communication disorders. Their team of innovative professionals consists of speech-language pathologists with several years of experience as well as students in graduate and post graduate studies, volunteers dedicated to helping and learning, and administrative assistants.
The clinical focus of SpeechWorks is upon Communication Disorders caused by brain injury including stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease, and dementia; Severe Developmental Disorders related to Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy; Stuttering; and Speech Language Delays and Disorders. They have received numerous grants over the years from agencies such as the Workers Compensation Board and the Winnipeg Foundation, allowing them to partner with organizations including the Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba, the Parkinson Society Manitoba and the Manitoba Brain Injury Association
Allison is a speech language pathologist who is certified by the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, the American Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and the Health Professions Council for the United Kingdom. She is also registered with the Manitoba Speech and Hearing Association, an organization for which she once served as President.
During her collegiate career, Allison earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Brandon University and a Master of Arts degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of North Dakota. She has also received the recognition of being nominated for the YMCA-YWCA Woman of Distinction Award.
