Women's Business Development Center Receives $50,000 Grant from Discover Financial Services
Funds will support organization's Business Financial Literacy Program to be delivered in various Chicago communities
CHICAGO, IL, December 09, 2011 /Women in Business PR News/ -- The Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) has received a grant of $50,000 from Discover Financial Services for its Business Financial Literacy Program to be delivered in Spanish and English in various Chicago communities.
The bilingual program provides prospective and established women entrepreneurs with the financial knowledge and skills they require to make informed and effective financial decisions through seminars, workshops, individual counseling, technical assistance, webinars and roundtables.
"Discover Financial Services' funding will enable the WBDC to expand its financial program to offer additional community-based training in low and moderate-income communities, develop educational materials and programs to improve and enhance business financial acumen in both Spanish and English," said Hedy Ratner, WBDC co-president.
